Frankfort is the shortest drive on our service-area list, and most of it is highway. Leave the village on 2nd Street, which becomes the Frankfort–Clarksburg Pike after a mile and a half, and the US-35 ramp is right there at the end of it. You are on the expressway before you have really left home.
From the ramp it is about eleven and a half miles east on four-lane US-35 — the same road that continues west past Frankfort toward Washington Court House and Dayton, which is what the signs on the far side of the interchange point to. Heading east, watch for the Bridge Street exit, signed US-23 Business and SR-159.
Eastbound arrivals do one thing westbound arrivals do not: you come off the ramp and turn left onto North Bridge Street, follow it north for about a fifth of a mile, then turn left again onto North Plaza Boulevard. Two lefts and you are there. Because the office sits on the north side of Chillicothe, the trip from Frankfort never touches the downtown streets.

Frankfort is unusual on this list in one respect: it is not a county seat, and it does not need to be. It is a village of 1,084 people (2020 census) in Concord Township, Ross County — the same county as our office — so Chillicothe is already the county seat that Frankfort residents drive to for county business, and the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library runs a branch in the village.
The village sits along the North Fork of Paint Creek, west of the Scioto valley, at about 742 feet of elevation on half a square mile of ground. It was laid out in 1816 under the name Oldtown, took its post office under that name in 1817, incorporated in 1827, and became Frankfort in 1834. The Red Brick Schoolhouse of 1877 still stands with an Ohio Historical Marker on it, and the Adena Local School District — Concord, Union and Deerfield townships — is centred here.
Practically, that shared-county relationship is the whole point. Frankfort and Chillicothe are two parts of the same county, fourteen miles apart on an expressway, and the trip to our office is the same trip Frankfort families already make for everything else in Ross County.
